International Programs at TSU

The Vision

Texas Southern University’s International Programs aim to create a unified global research-driven institution, integrating academic and non-academic units for collaborative innovation. Through strategic partnerships with institutions worldwide, TSU fosters interdisciplinary knowledge creation, policy formulation, and global understanding, positioning itself as a leader in international education and research.

The Mission

Texas Southern University’s International Programs foster global communication, collaboration, and problem-solving through research and applied solutions. Dedicated to developing global citizenship, TSU provides a forum for international public policy discussions, engaging academic and non-academic units to drive cross-disciplinary cooperation and global impact.

“Studying in countries like China isn’t only about our prospects in the global marketplace. It’s not just about whether you can compete with your peers in other countries to make America stronger. It’s also about whether you can come together and work together with them to make our world stronger. It’s about the friendships you make, the bonds of trust you establish and the image of America that you project to the rest of the world.” - Michelle Obama
“ When I went to Africa with the Peace Corp, a woman who worked with the Corp said something to me that I have often thought about since. She told me ‘Africa is not going to adapt to you. You are going to have to adapt to Africa.’ That is true of where you go, whether it’s school or whether it’s in the broader world.” - Amy Harmon, A Different Blue
