Freshman Admission Questions

Using the MyTSUWeb for Prospects, students may track their admission status.
Students may apply for admission at www.applytexas.org
The T-number will be provided on the admission checklist letter and email.
Admission requirements is available online at www.tsu.edu/admissions.
High school transcripts may be faxed to 713-313-7471, emailed to admissions@tsu.edu or mailed to Texas Southern University, Office of Undergraduate Admissions, 3100 Cleburne Street, Houston, TX 77004
Transcripts may be sent directly from the high school (electronically, email or regular mail).
- ACT/SAT score reports should be sent directly from the testing agency.
- ACT school code: 4216
- SAT/College Board Code: 6824
Final transcripts must be sent electronically from the high school or mailed to the TSU Office of Admissions prior to the start of the academic semester of enrollment.
Yes. TSU offers the ACT-R exam through the University Testing Center to assist students who did not take the regular ACT or SAT exam. Click here for more information about -> ACT-R exam.
Students with dual credits must request to have the college transcript be sent to TSU. These credits will not appear on the high school transcript.
Through the MYTSUWeb for Prospect Portal, the college transcript will be listed under the “Status of Required Items” section of the page with a received date.
From the MyTSUWeb for Prospect portal, “AP Scores” will be listed under the Status of Required Items with the date the AP scores were received.

Yes, admission counselors are available Monday through Friday from 8AM to 5PM to assist
new and prospective students complete the admission process. Counselors may be reached

Yes, students who’ve earned a GED may apply for freshman admission. The minimum SAT or ACT score is still required, along with the GED scores and certificate, to complete the application for admission.
