TSU Faculty, Staff and Students:
Texas Southern University will operate on a delayed 10 a.m. start for classes and offices on Friday, Feb. 28, 2020, as a result of the city's water main break. TSU's water system is at full pressure and all restrooms are functional.
The on-campus daycare in the Allie Mitchell Building will be closed Friday. TSU's early voting location in the Terry Library is open today from 7 a.m.-7 p.m.
Please know that the safety and security of our campus community is of the utmost concern throughout this water main break situation.
Early this morning, we ensured that our water system was fully functional – at full pressure and flushed - before making the decision to have a delayed start.
All but one of our on-campus eateries are functioning in compliance with the boiled water guidelines. We have arranged for bottled water to be available for students, faculty and staff who need it.
We understand that, due to other institutions being closed, some of our students and staff may have other priorities due to personal situations. We will work with those students and staff if there are issues in this regard.
As always, GO TIGERS!
Under the City’s Boil Water Notice, residents are advised not to drink tap water without bringing it to a rolling boil for at least 2 minutes and letting it cool before use.
