Priscilla

Mexican soprano, Priscilla Salisbury, has been sweeping the nation with her shimmering voice and captivating stage presence. Renowned for her versatility, she has originated the title roles in world premiere operas such as Monkey and Francine in the City of Tigers (Houston Grand Opera Co.), Lucinda y las Flores del a Nochebuena (Opera in the Heights), and Earth to Kenzie (Seattle Opera). In addition she premiered the role of Mrs. O'Malley from It's a Wonderful Life (Houston Grand Opera) and workshopped the role of Maddie in "Dreams Americanos" (I Colori Opera).

Among her accomplishments, Ms. Salisbury is the recipient of the Let Creativity Happen Grant from the City of Houston and Houston Arts Alliance. Her contributions have earned her The Encouragement Award from the Seattle Opera Guild Competition, a two-time winner of the NATS Greater-Houston Area Competition in the adult classical category, and recognition as the winner of the Houston Masterworks Competition. She also holds the esteemed Ugo di Portanova Scholarship from the Università per Stranieri di Siena, Italy.

Ms. Salisbury holds a Master of Music from the University of Texas at Austin and a Master of Sacred Music from St. Thomas University. Beyond her stage career, she serves as a Teaching Artist with Houston Grand Opera Community and Learning and holds positions as an Adjunct Professor of Vocal Studies at LoneStar College, Montgomery, and Texas Southern University.
