InstructorAndrew Roseborrough has been teaching at TSU for 7 years, initially as an Artist-in-Residence, and as adjunct instructor of high brass since 2019. Andrew earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in trumpet performance from the University of Houston in 2005, followed by his Master’s and Doctorate in the same from the University of Miami in 2007 and 2010. While in Florida, Dr. Roseborrough performed widely, including concerts with the Miami Symphony, New World Symphony, Florida Grand Opera Orchestra, Miami City Ballet Orchestra, as well as regional symphonies all across South Florida. He was a founding member of the Miami Music project brass quintet, which combined professional performances with free music education opportunities for underprivileged youths.

Since returning to Houston in 2012, Andrew has performed as principal trumpet with the Texas Medical Center Orchestra, solo cornet with the Houston Brass Band, as well as with the Magnolia City Brass Band and Dreaming of YouA Tribute to Selena. Dr. Roseborrough still gigs in Florida, having played with Miami’s iteration of the wildly popular New Year’s Salute to Vienna orchestra since 2019. Andrew is passionately committed to music education, and furthering the exposure and participation of the younger generations to all styles of music.
