The Jesse H. Jones School of Business (JHJ) at Texas Southern University is accredited by the prestigious Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) International, the gold standard of excellence in management education. This accreditation highlights the school's dedication to quality, continuous improvement, and academic rigor, achieved through comprehensive peer reviews.

AACSB accreditation ensures that JHJ meets the highest standards by:

  • Managing resources to fulfill a dynamic and relevant mission.

  • Advancing business and management knowledge through faculty research.

  • Delivering high-quality teaching and up-to-date curricula.

  • Fostering meaningful student-faculty engagement.

  • Producing graduates who meet defined learning goals.

Established in 1968 as the first historically Black college or university (HBCU) to achieve AACSB accreditation, JHJ has continuously demonstrated excellence. Though its accreditation lapsed in the 1980s, the school reaffirmed its commitment by meeting AACSB standards in 2002 and securing a 10-year accreditation. Under the leadership of Dean Dr. David Yen, the JHJ School reaffirmed its accreditation in May 2022, reinforcing its position as a leader in business education.
